Protocol and Procedures: The Returnal is to be kept in an "inactive" state outside of testing. Refer to Humanoid Containment figure G3 for specifics in dimensions and fixes.
In the scenario that The Returnal exhibits any changes in containment, different procedures must be followed. In the scenario that he shows signs of consciousness/reactivation during an inactive state, the nearest security force is to be informed.
In the case evacuation is required, all anomalies in Area-48 are to be doublechecked and have their containment rooms locked, and a Military Troop Squadron is to be dispatched in the Area. While The Returnal could theoretically be nonanomalous, he is to be studied along with technologies recovered from Igor Robotics.
KILLSQUAD Procedure: The inner containment cell can be transported via crane & helicopter. Due to the modifications given to the containment cell, the roof can be removed by using the series is switched on the east side room to the containment chamber. Do note that one will need to be approved by at least two BLUE tier staff to open the roof, or they will otherwise face termination. While the Area-48 crane could be used, it is easier to attach the inner containment cell to helicopter.
If The Returnal wakes up during this process, he can be zapped via the special cord attached to the helicopter.
Origin: During the Fall of Igor, The Returnal was among the many pieces of technology collected. Following the initial firefight, he slaughtered the remainder of the individuals present in the factory, seemingly out of fear for his own life. The rampage temporarily came to a halt once The Returnal had an interaction with a scientist, but she was eliminated, and The Returnal was captured before he could kill any more.
DNA samples collected align with a 21-year-old soldier by the name of Harvey {EXPUNGED VIA REQUEST OF PURPLE TIER STAFF OR ABOVE—NO DISPUTE}, who was declared KIA in 2003 in an undisclosed location in Asia.
Appearance: The Returnal takes the appearance of a 10 foot (3.048 meters) tall cybernetic humanoid (Cyborg). Most of his body is metal, and the only completely intact features are his head, parts of his brain, and ribcage.
The Returnal’s right arm is completely robotic. It is made out of a metal plate material. This arm can changed and morph into three different weapons; a hand, a gun, and a saw.
The hand is the form that will be used the most, as The Returnal will only use the other two when he feels threatened. The hand resembles a typical human’s right hand, only made out of a synthetic type of rubber. While not a noticeable threat, The Returnal has been reported to be able to kill with this hand.
The gun is mostly used whenever he is being shot at by KILLSQUAD subjects or Military Troop Squadrons. It takes the form of a rifle, from the hand guard up to the muzzle. It is currently unknown how many bullets The Returnal possesses.
Anomaly: The Returnal is a sort of “Zombie,” a reanimated corpse. He appears to possess some of his pre-mortem memories, responding to stimuli previously associated with known individuals, such as {EXPUNGED VIA REQUEST OF BLUE TIER STAFF OR ABOVE—NO DISPUTE}.
The Returnal is highly dangerous, as he appears to believe that he is still on the war front. He has been spotted attempting to engage in tactical combat with his weapons.
A researcher who has asked to have their name kept anonymous theorizes that “the poor boy is terrified. He was sent out into a war at such a young age, and now that’s all he knows.
Nevertheless, while some have argued that The Returnal is non-anomalous, he must be contained and studied for the protection of civilian life and to explore the potential for reverse-engineering his bio mechanical form.
